So, Akhenaten, in case you may have skipped junior high school ancient history, was a pharaoh of Ancient Egypt who is mostly noted for the fact that he got it in his head that he had the "right way of thinking" for the future of his people and quickly tried to obliterate thousands of years of traditional Egyptian polytheistic religious beliefs and institutions, pretty much overnight, and instill his own home-baked monotheistic-like worship to "the Aten." Well, he was the pharaoh, of course, so for a while this was the way it was and "it was written, so it shall be done" so to speak. But, when he died (I'm sure quite naturally and peacefully, who's to say... wink, wink) the former priests of the multiple temples that were closed started to instigate a revolution to the whole reign and soon the next pharaoh (perhaps good ol' King Tut himself, historians aren't sure... he was pharaoh around that era but they don't know for certain if he was Aki's son) instituted a nationwide reverse course and brought back the "old time religion," reinstalled the priesthood bureaucracy and ordered the destruction of anything with Aki's name or image. All the steles and obelisks and statues were smashed... or so they thought. Some of them survived... and they weren't re-discovered until the 20th century!

So, I thought of this analogy when I pulled up my news feed and this popped up. Yet again, Trump being Trump. Mr. Showman, as always. He has to be in the news EVERY FUCKING DAY!
And I also read in an article, just posted today about how he, I guess AGAIN has stated that he recalls how he was "rescued by firefighters from ground zero on 9/11." I didn't effect a proper research, but if my memory holds up (and we all know how great that is, right?) I'm pretty sure this statement has been in the news before. He's said it years ago and been confronted on it. To his usual Trump-ish ways, he defended it by clarifying that he had visited the ground zero site weeks after the fall of the towers as it was, of course, still cordoned off and he may have (for the assembled press, no doubt) made a step too close and was cautioned, for his safety, to remain back. Hardly being "rescued" but with the way he blows shit out of proportion, you can see where he gets this story.
The democrats, if they can win back control of the executive and legislative branches, once again, and, of course, that's a big if, may well be instilled with the vigor of "mandate of the people" and go forth, as those ancient priests of Egypt, and try to "Akhenaten" the Mark of Trump from the Face of the World. To that I say, in this age of technology...

Maybe they'll ask everyone to delete all mention of "he who shall not be spoken of" from any of their socials while they tear down his ballroom, his tacky goldleaf filigree, his Triumphal Arch, his seated statue in the Trump Monument, formerly the Lincoln Memorial (oh he wouldn't dare! Really?) All his shit. Would you do it? Would you delete Trump from your digital files forever? MAGAs, will you burn your hats?
