When the game MONOPOLY was designed, it was commonplace, back in the early 20th century, that communities of not-so-wealthy individuals would help each other out, and if there were resources available for the community to share, then the community would do so. Thus is the idea behind a community chest. Our little neighborhood in this 55+ trailer park has these two individuals to thank for developing our own community chest. They take the time to make a weekly run to the local food bank and load up the minivan, as NoFu said, and I quote "Until they couldn't see out the back window" and bring it all home. But not just for themselves... they share it with the whole community. Here they are coming in from their trip, unloading, delivering the goods to each house, and finally, a pic of my portion this go round; some carrots, eggs, tomatoes and a grapefruit. Aw, they're so good to us! I hope they hit Free Parking and collect a big pot of loot!
