What They Should Have Done

So I was reflecting on my disappointment in my viewing yesterday of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Dr. Phillips Center and it got me thinking, what could they have done to really fix this mess of a play? It should have started with the writing in the first place. They forgot the number one cardinal rule of making truly fabulous productions, established by none other than the great Broadway genius Roger Elizabeth De Bris. Now, they kinda tried. They supposedly left a little wiggle room for the audience to quibble about regarding the ambiguity of the deeper relationship between Scorpius and Aldus. The awkward hugs, the exclusive nature of their friendship and hints of being ostracized, etc. Hooey! I just didn't see it. To be a success, this play needed to crank it up quite a few notches! As the following tune teaches us, they needed to remember that the rule is, when mounting a play, keep it funny, keep it sunny, keep it gay!

BTW, I keep waiting for this show to be revived so it can make its rounds again. I would definitely pay three figures for near front row seats. Shit, maybe even a trip to New York to see it on Broadway for real! That would be a gay ol' time!
