There Is No Need To Fear!

Piggybacking on the previous post's olde tyme cartoon theme, I thought I'd make Underdog here my mascot for my newest attempt to smack my old villain Mr. Fat down a notch or two.

Yep, I'm at it again. A new weight loss plan.

I know damn well not to pin any hopes on exercise. I'm not having any of that. Not right now anyway. I can't even bring myself to use the little pedal thing or the 5 lb. iron dumbbells that I have sitting right there, you can't see it but I'm nodding my head in the general direction, over there, on the floor, on the left side of my desk, gathering dust.

But with Underdog, and my weekly Ozempic shots, I should have the vim and vigor to at least reduce the big meal habits that I've carried on with for oh too many decades now.

Here's my meal plan that I've laid out for today in My Fitness Pal. I just finished my morning breakfast salad and my two cups of coffee. Yes I'm still on the creamer kick. Six tablespoons of creamer for two cups. That's what I figure anyway. I free pour. Had to substitute Caesar dressing instead of the planned Thousand Island since I made the menu thinking I had Thousand Island but lo and behold I don't. No matter, pretty much the same calories.

Oh, by the way, rediscovered my method for hard-boiled eggs to add to the salad. I'm not having any of the old fashioned boil water, immerse eggs, boil for 10 minutes, put under the cold water tap for another 2 minutes, pull out the eggs, fiddle with the eggshells and all of that. Just crack the eggs into a small ceramic bowl after greasing said bowl with just a scant amount of butter so that the eggs won't stick, pop it in the microwave, zap for 2 minutes, and voila, hard boiled egg. And not so hard boiled as to be gummy; perfectly hard boiled. Oh, before I forget, do not neglect to poke the egg yolks before nuking them. You don't want an yoke-xplosion inside your microwave.

Notice I arrange all my meals into the "Dinner" category. Makes it easier to find. Plus, with me, I don't treat food as being segregated to only breakfast, lunch or dinner choices. I eat what I want, whatever it is, anytime. I'm the Benetton of eaters.

The bean soup is actually leftovers from quite a few weeks ago. I froze up a big batch of it, and have it in smaller bowls as needed. I haven't heated it up yet as I just finished the salad and I'm actually full. I tend to forget that Ozempic will do that. If you just wait a damn minute after eating a small portion you'll find that you're actually full. My problem is I just have the old habit of making a big portion and then not even waiting 'till I move on to a next course or a dessert. Then I end up like I am today where I've gained three pounds over last week. Yeah I'm 281 now. So this is where it begins. The new journey. From 281 to who knows where.

I'll let you know with an update to this post at the end of the day whether I kept this menu as is or I had to add to it. As you can see it's pretty scant. I don't think I've eaten under a thousand calories in a single day in quite a darn while. Oh well, as they say, the journey of a thousand steps, to get that Polly Purebred figure...

EDIT: Well I ate through that menu pretty much by normie lunchtime so for normie dinnertime I added a chicken patty, gravy and corn. Adjusted the soup quantity too since I really only had a half cup. Still low overall daily total though. Of course, sodium. And fat as a ratio is high. Meh. Shit to work on.
