In Gaza this weekend, a "Peace for the Ages" seems to have shown signs of, er, well...impermanence.

Maybe the slick wizards behind 1978's Battlestar Galactica? Go ahead and tell me they weren't thinking with the same pessimism what with the imagery in this clip: The hijab-donned reporter and the colors of the banners and bunting? 

In case you're too young to remember, it was all the same shit back then too; same players, same locale. Just a wink-wink, nod-nod fictional sci-fi tale to frame the then-contemporaneous, and now still-lingering, real-world entrenched-hatred dilemma. Even a blond-haired, way-too-smiley, naïve American president strewn in the midst of the real-world stuff in both time frames. Though I'd gladly be able to have the former, if we could, than the latter, thank you very much, any freakin' day.
