Incredible to imagine I first posted about this magnificent Apple+ television series adaptation of Isaac Asimov's classic Foundation back in 2021 as it was about to start and today the first episode debuted of only its THIRD season...FOUR YEARS LATER!
But heck, if it takes this amount of time to bake a quality cake such as this than so be it. I can wait.
Today's season opener was astounding! We finally see The Mule in all his understated awe. His opening move, just like in the books, is when he finally reveals that he will overtake his rivals not by a vast armada or army of his own, he has no need for such frivolities and complications, he just allows his mind to "nudge," ever so gently, that of his opponent. And by "nudge," he means, basically, totally take full control. He psychically "nudges" the captains of the spaceships overhead to fire upon each other and the ground troops to do the same. In about four minutes, an entire planet is defenseless and the ruler forced to gnaw his own finger off to hand over his ring of authority to The Mule. THIS IS KATEBO!
And this is just one scene in the awesome 53 minutes of the glorious return of this fantastic series. Can you tell I'm a total fanboy?
