Lovin' the drama. But didn't we all know it was just a matter of time?
The Chancellor, making comparisons to current efforts in trying to end the war in Ukraine, mentions that tomorrow is the anniversary of D-Day, "when Americans once ended the war in Europe" (not wholly the entire full truth but of course he was trying to emphasize the importance of the US as a catalyst in bringing forth peace to Europe aka suggesting the US not give up on the current efforts). Regardless, anyone with even a high school level understanding of WWII history should know that yes, D-Day spelled out a bad day for NAZI Germany.
What does Trump say in response? "I guess that was a bad day for you?"
HUH? Does he think the current Chancellor of a democratic, modern Germany would look upon the beginning of the downfall of the Nazis as a BAD thing?
The Chancellor delicately corrected him saying that in fact current Germans see it as the start of the liberation of their country from the tyranny of the Nazis, to which Trump then nodded as if to say "Oh yeah...that's right."
Oh my fucking God!
