Let's be real. Tonight's debate, whether it's watched by millions on television, or like me, streamed on the internet, is all about trying to be in the right place at the right time to witness some display of incredible Ultra facepalm proportions. Who will it be to deliver that? And will we be able to believe our own eyes and ears?
I'll try to keep up a simulcast between the official streaming platform provided by the hosts of tonight's debate, CNN, on their website, as well as a selection of hopefully at least two more with perhaps a less CNN like bias. Of course these will no doubt come with their own biases. Nothing is neutral anymore.
We have a while before it begins and I wonder a few things right off the bat. Primarily, how will this stack up to other presidential debates in the past, including 2020 debates between these two same guys? Especially in regard to that latter part, how will it appear that they may have changed over the past four years?
Another thought: Since this debate will have no audience, no opportunity to cross talk, and supposedly will be extremely tightly controlled, it makes me wonder if there will also be an actual time delay in order for CNN to potentially do some quick editing.
If Biden totally freezes up or starts wandering away blindly or makes mumbling noises incoherently into the microphone and starts to pee his pants, would we ever see that, or would there suddenly be "technical difficulties?"
To be fair, I guess there's also a chance that Biden was coached perfectly and is able to say something that just pushes some secret trigger button to make Trump go berserk and we hear Trump do something like spew out profanities or run to the nearest woman, perhaps a member of the camera or stage crew, and grab her by the pussy?
All bets are off.
And I'm sure I'm not the only one sitting with salivating anticipation, virtual bucket of popcorn at hand, hoping that this shitshow election year really kicks into overdrive with some phenomenal and monumental display in this, tonight, live, in your face Showdown of the Geriatric White Men!
