Those Were The Days

Last night most of the major TV networks broadcast the so-called January 6th Committee's first public hearing. FOX chose not to cover it. As depicted below, I chose to highlight that after the "hearing," MSNBC and FOX had "news" content shows hosted by persons appearing to act like news anchors. I also chose to show the image of a REAL news anchor speaking to the nation in 1968, another time period when this country was deeply divided on socio-political issues.

These days, news entertainment shows portray and convey current events heavily edited and narrated to their own particular biases. MSNBC representing, arguably, the most far-left and FOX representing, arguably, the most far-right. There no longer seems to be an "in-between." Even Walter Cronkite's (the REAL newsman shown here) CBS network is in the leftist camp, no longer centrist.

But back when I was a young lad, Mr. Cronkite was, arguably, the most fair, plain-spoken and level-headed news anchor informing the American people of "the way it was." Makes me wonder, what would he make of the circus atmosphere that is TV news today?

Mister, we could use a man like Walter Cronkite again.
