Time yet again to modify our Facebook portraits with Ukraine Flag filters.
Time to yet again affix the tag: STRONG to the newest crisis arena.
Time to yet again watch the sudden, yet likely quite temporary, drop in stocks.
Time to yet again hear analysts and others in the US to complain about a spike in prices at the gas pump.
Time for news broadcasts to yet again (though not entirely) become focused on something in crisis mode and steer away from the usual pablum of petty politics, Hollywood and Hip Hop Star drama and, of course, the pandemic.
Time to yet again have an ineffective leadership of world leaders sitting around at worthless conferences, in-person and virtual, discussing their potential "next move."
EDIT: Holy shit! For real, as I'm writing this post I'm listening to news coverage in the background and a reporter was asking for feedback about the invasion with an average Ukrainian citizen about what the buzz amongst them is and she says "We fear we will be exterminated by Russians. Women are passing out sunflower seeds to people for them to place in their pockets so that when they are shot and killed and buried [hastily in shallow graves] the seeds will sprout and flowers will grow up from their [rotting corpses]."
Man, that deep, dark Eastern European zeitgeist.
Makes you wonder, will this turn out to be like all the other times yet again? Or, could shit really go down differently this time?
