"That Side" Of YouTube

King Neptune taking Dead Joe to his uncle
So lately I've been following videos posted by this shirtless twink in his early twenties who wears a red bandanna pointing upwards on his head, sometime sports a red cape as well and admits he has a mild form of autism which makes him act quirky. And boy is he right. More than quirky, he's down-right weird but in a fascinating way...that's what's so different about him.

YouTube, especially "That Side" of YouTube...you know, the side you end up watching after a late-night session of aimlessly following various links and spiraling down the rabbit hole further and further each wee hour of the morning, has no shortage of weirdos. But most are just trying to be comical or sensational in some way. Like cringy vloggers and flat earthers, two examples of YouTube fringe tropes. But Joe Winko (he seems to say it like it's his real name) is, I think, the real deal. He really does display behaviors I'm very familiar with from my years of experience working with people with autism. Though it seems mild enough for him to be somewhat coherent and he can "pass" well enough if he restricts his conversation to the most topical, it does become apparent after a few minutes of him speaking that the content of what he's saying is pretty out there.

Joe, like many on that end of the spectrum, find maps and locations have special qualities that perk his interest into the realm of obsession. He has shown, repeatedly on his vlogs, maps of destinations, mainly on the east coast of the US, that he wants someone to drive him to. He has no money because, he says, he gets too anxious to stay employed so doesn't seek it out anymore. He lives with people he calls his "adoptive parents' relatives" and dreams of meeting an older gay guy that will take him in to live with them, provided they don't live near a hurricane or tornado prone area, and understand that he'll be that man's lover/partner but just wants to be sucked off as he refuses to take it up the ass or suck dick. But he is gay, he just wants to be serviced, I guess. Oh yeah, it's pretty obvious that he's high maintenance and expects all his needs will be paid for by this guy.

I can't stop watching. He has a ton of videos and is not afraid to speak his mind, clearly and repeatedly. He has a small following of around eleven thousand subs that, judged by many comments are probably just as quirky. I subbed too. I even emailed him...

Heck, I'm older, willing to go on extended road trips, live in the center of the state away from the coasts, and have been known to be good at, er ah, servicing...

What the hell am I doing?
