Sea Day

Outfit: Black "Snake Eyes" T-shirt, black shorts.

Slept 'till 10:00 AM, drowsily made my way to WJ for breakfast, then back to bed. Got up after an hour nap or so, went up to pool deck to see about the "Pineapple Drink Special" but the bartender didn't know anything about it. I think it was a "left-over" from Tuesday accidentally reprinted in today's Compass. (The kinda shit we night shift Lakewood staff would get bitched at about when we printed out the daily schedules...hope this crew get the same) They did have a special on "Margarita Azul" (margarita with blue curacao) so I had a couple of them. Nice out, so of course, every pool lounger was either occupied or "saved" with a remnant towel or book. I don't think they are strictly enforcing the "30 minute" rule on these deck chairs frankly.

At the Centrum shops they were having a Close Out Sale on all the Cuba merch they had in stock. Remember, this cruise was originally supposed to sail to Havana until Trump banned all American cruise ships from going there. So now they have to sell this stuff at rock bottom prices. Picked up this shirt and cap for $4 each! (The had the sale again the next day so I bought 3 more shirts)

The show tonight was an old tyme comic, very much in the style of classics like Jackie Mason, Rodney Dangerfield and Billy Crystal. Ed Regine, introduced as being a regular guest on the "Jay Leno Show" (so that goes back aways). They displayed a photo monage on screens on the sides of the stage showing snapshots he had taken of him with various "old tyme" celebrities like the ones I'd mentioned. After his set, he even announced he'd be selling CDs in the lobby area of his 100 greatest jokes. Sad. This is what happens to washed up comics. They do older cruise ships and hawk their shit themselves. Nevertheless, he was pretty good. He'd updated a few things you could tell but his jokes were mostly two liners either pointing out the absurdity of things or the stupidity of people. The younger folks seemed to really like him. Maybe because they'd never heard material like this. Let's face it, this shit is almost vaudevillian and absolutely no one does it anymore. Maybe he'll start a revival? Who knows?

Capped off my night with more karaoke at the Spectrum. It's fun "following" repeat performers, hearing their repertoire, as it were. I admit I was developing a little crush on Kirin. He's so adorable. I could just eat him up.
